Uncle Chubby’s Delivers Burnt Food for GrubHub!

Back in the day our family loved to order from this restaurant. It had great food and service, so it was always a great time with Uncle Chubby’s at the table.

This year we have ordered several times through GrubHub, even though the customer service seemed unfriendly and bored at Uncle Chubby’s, the food was still always good so it was worth the frustration.

Well after our last order, we will never order from this establishment again. I couldn’t wait for my lasagna to arrive, but it arrived burnt and almost 30 minutes late per GrubHub estimated deliver time. The employees had to notice how burnt this lasagna was (see picture above) when they put the lid on it and yet still sent it out to the customer anyway. When we reached out to the establishment we were told they were to busy to remake and redeliver the order not burnt. Apparently satisfaction is not important!

We were then informed we could call back at another time and there would be a credit waiting, and they would happily redeliver the food. I questioned this and was assured there would be a credit waiting. Well Uncle Chubby does not keep his or his employees word! When we called back no one had any idea of a credit and the owner actually argued about it, and even though there was proof of the order through GrubHub he was still unfriendly and unwilling to replace what was paid for and received burnt.

Even GrubHub couldn’t understand this owners lack of customer service when we complained to them, but they did nothing to rectify the issue. You would think the business owners of these establishments would want to make customers happy, but apparently if your not happy with the food don’t plan on a refund, credit or even a re-delivery because it’s not going to happen!

Take my advice and stay away from Uncle Chubby’s and GrubHub, they are not about providing good service or good food!

Why New York State home owners can’t catch a break!

When the City can’t make their budget who pays the bill, the Home owner.

When the city tears up the roads with the DPW trucks who pays for the oiling, the Home Owner.

When the State and the County raise property taxes again, and then NY state gives the Home Owner a rebate, who takes it back, the City Common Council.

The Home owner looses every time in NY, because any rebate they were expecting to receive will now be in the form of a higher property tax burden.

When the Home owner is late on their water bill after the first of the year, the City will call this arrears and place a small portion of that bill on the home owners property taxes and call it water rent, just to make the home owners escrow payment even higher and to force them into paying the Department of Water on time after the first of the year just to avoid this scam charge. That is the only way this benefits the City because to wait a year for pennies that they could have had now just doesn’t make any sense. Even scammers don’t have it this good.

This is the wonders of being a Home Owner in NY State. You cringe every time your new tax bill is due to arrive, your problems are not with paying the Mortgage payment, but with paying your escrow payment. It’s just like having an adjustable rate payment on a thirty year fixed loan!

New York State places an incredibly high and unfair property tax burden on it’s Home Owners. If your a first time home buyer and you think your getting a good deal because the property here is really cheap, don’t make that purchase, because the entire burden of the State will be coming out of your pocket, and all you will have left is your home.

TWC Modem leasing fees, and the Class Action Suit

It’s bad enough that Time Warner Cable has awful customer service and they now require digital adapters on analog TV‘s for a fee, but starting November 2012 they are going to start charging long time customers a so called leasing fee for their internet modems of $3.95 a month. If your not happy about that, you can buy your own but it must be one that’s approved for service by Time Warner Cable and that could run about $200 or more.

“According to CNY Time Warner Communications Manager Stephanie Salanger, the company’s main goal is to give customers the best experience possible and charging the fee will allow them to continually service the equipment and enhance their Internet services.”

That’s funny, considering customers have complained of having the worst experience possible with this company, and charging this additional fee more and more consumers will be leaving TWC. They boast about having so many ways to contact customer service, chat, email and phone, but if you try to call it’s always busy, if you open a chat session you get referred to call, and if you email they will reply with a referral to call, or no response at all.

Time Warner Cable figures if you can’t get through their busy phone line to complain, you’ll just go away, and if you do get through, they will say anything to get you off the phone, they will tell you “they are going to escalate your complaint and someone will call you back”. Well that won’t happen, these reps could care less, unless you don’t pay your bill you will never hear back from them. This company has the worst service by far, and now they are starting to gouge us with fee’s. Time to make a change, and start to complain email the CEO below.

Another box, I think not!

If you thought you didn’t need a digital box because you had cable, think again.

Time Warner Cable is now forcing customers to have a separate digital set-top box for each analog television starting October 10, 2012. If you want to watch certain channels like LifeTime Movie Network, CMT, C-SPAN, EWTN, Golf Channel, OWN and TruTV, you will now be required to have a digital adapter or CableCARD for your analog televisions. Time Warner claims they are providing a better quality channel and picture, if that’s true why are they leaving their customers who already pay way to much for cable and are receiving less and less programming, no choice but to pay for a digital adapter or loose these channels they pay for!

Time Warner Cable claims you can get one of these adapters free until December 2013, what they don’t tell you is that free adapter you get today is the same one they are going to start charging you for come December 2013 at .99 cents a month. That’s why even though they suggest you order your free adapter online, when you try the site says not offered for your account. That’s because Time Warner Cable needs you to call and request their so called free digital adapter because it’s not considered free equipment, and they are going to start billing your account for it next year.

They are looking to charge their long time customers more money in surprise fees by claiming this adapter is free! Might be time for us to make a change to our digital TV, email the CEO and tell him no more fees!

NYS Unemployment, don’t plan on it.

Being unemployed in New York State is the worst. The Department of Labor will constantly refer you to their website through their automated phone system, to find answers and status of your claim, but their website doesn’t tell you anything other then benefits paid or pending, there is no information about why your not receiving benefits or why your claim is pending..

The reps are rude and treat you like you don’t want to work, they insult your intelligence and ability to find employment, make threats to not pay your benefits, and if they think you are employable they will critique your resume to their liking, then make you continue to come back just to show them a piece of paper that shows you are applying to jobs, they call this the program. Meanwhile your wasting time you could be spending looking for a job.

The Department of Labor says if they request paperwork and you don’t supply it, that will hold up your benefits, but in reality they hold up your benefits even without sending out requests for the paperwork, benefits are held as long as the paperwork is pending, and it could be as long as a month without benefits by the time you figure out why, send out the paperwork, then wait for them to receive it and scan it.

Military veterans coming home to New York State beware, the Department of Labor will tell you you are all set, and then sit back and hold up your benefits without notice, until the veteran makes calls and tries to find out why they are still not receiving benefits. Are you kidding me this is how New York State treats it’s unemployed veterans who have served our country, they should be ashamed!.

It’s bad enough to be unemployed in New York State, but to have to fight for benefits, when it takes four working days for an employed person to scan a document into a file is just outrageous. Thanks for nothing Albany!

Sam’s Club Plus Scam

 

SamsClub is scamming long time members out of more higher Membership fees by way of the Plus Membership. The cashier tries to up sell the higher price Plus Membership at the checkout, when the members regular Membership is about to expire for $12 dollars, then when the member goes to renew the total is $100, and they leave no option to remove this Plus Membership from your account without going to customer service.

Why is this Membership being forced on members at renewal time, we should have the option to choose what kind of Membership we interested in, and SamsClub should be ashamed.

It’s bad enough we really don’t get a full year out of our $40 memberships, now their forcing higher priced Memberships on us at checkout and renewal time. There are no fans of this SamsClub scam. If were not getting benefits with a $40 Membership, what are we getting, and why are we wasting are money. Do the math, and then do yourself a favor and shop at your local Walmart Super Center, no fees or up sell just savings.

The Truth About The Property Tax Oiling Fee

As if us New Yorkers don’t already pay the highest property taxes around, which have gone up as much as $100 or more since Mayor Stephanie Miner took office, some home owners are burdened paying an additional fee for oiling every five years of $100 or more. If the home is located on city owned property that has no curb, the homeowners are charged every five years for an oiling fee, and guess who gets to make the decision of who has curbs and who doesn’t, the City, and if the City decides to put curbs in, the whole street must agree, and guess who gets to pay for it, the homeowners!

The City of Syracuse will tell you its because of the dirt produced from their no-curbed part of property that your home is located on, but many have just a little patch that couldn’t produce dirt if it tried. It is the Department of Public Works (DPW) trucks and heavy equipment that are tearing up the roads and dirt, and causing damage to home owners sewer pipes and vents, and the City of Syracuse refuses to respond, this is Mayor Stephanie Miner‘s ignore it and it will go away plan.

I think this fee is unfair and the city uses it to accumulate bigger tax payments from our escrow accounts, so much for the the property tax cap!
